1959 MGA 1600 COUPE

MG has built some gorgeous cars since it started in business in 1924. Arguably the best looking car of them all was the MGA, which ushered in a new era for the Abingdon based car company when it replaced the ancient T-Series in 1955. Sleek and beautiful, the MGA isn't the fastest sportscar around but it is superb to drive thanks to it's agility, lively performance, sweet gearchange and light steering.

According to Heritage certificate in the history folder, this gorgeous example rolled of the production line at Abingdon on the 23rd of June 1959.The was subject to ground up restoration between 2002 and 2008 and has covered no more than 5000 miles since the rebuild.

During the rebuild the chassis was was totally rebuilt and the body restored with new wings, sills and door panels.

The engine was rebuilt with a the cylinder head converted to run on unleaded fuel. All the suspension and brakes overhauled. All the work during the rebuild was recorded on two sides of A4 paper.

Part exchange welcome, ancient or modern, funds either way.
