Ah!!!! The MGB Roadster, an icon of your farther's youth in the swinging 60s. It is the archetypal British Sports car. As British as warm beer and fish and chips. It is tough, entertaining and timeless. The 'B' is a remarkable car. Consider the numbers, announced at the start of the 1960s, it lasted 28 years before finally departing the scene in 1980. In that time, no fewer than 386, 961 MGB Roadsters left the Abingdon production line. After the Abingdon plant closed, the MGB fueled the growth of a remarkable industry geared solely to maintaining, improving and recreating the breed. Yes, some people sneer that the 'B' is boring but this is blinkered nonsense brought about the British fear of success. The MGB deserves to be at the top of the shopping list for anybody who is looking for a classic sports car that is practical and affordable as well as stylish.
The quite superb example we offer here was subject to a major restoration, completed in 2019. The process included a back to bare metal repaint after the replacement of several panels. The work was carried out by well respected DDW Classic Car Restorations of Staffordshire. The restoration was done on behalf of the last owner, a gentleman who is a self confessed quality obsessed individual.
The quality of the work is testament to his obsession, probably one of the best restorations we have seen.
The history file makes very interesting reading, containing a thick wad of invoices for all the work carried out plus many items of work carried out over the past 30 years, including all MOTs going back to 1989. There is also a history trace of the car's registration history, showing most of the car's previous owners from the DVLA. The reader will probably be aware that such a history trace is no longer available from the DVLA due to the data protection act........ funny that, when we also have a freedom of information act!!
The car comes with overdrive, heater, wind deflector, modern music system, early type coloured keyed dash, oil cooler with braided oil pipes, alloy wheels, after market air filters, servo assisted brakes, poly bushed suspension, rear gaz shock absorbers and leather covers steering wheel.
To sum up here is a car in arguably the right colour and right extras ready to show and enjoy.
