1956 MG MAGNETTE ZA REBUILT

When announced, the MG Magnette was very unique in the market place,as mid sized sporting saloons were as yet not fashionable. Designed by Gerald Palmer of Jowett Javelin and Riley Pathfinder fame, the Magnette ZA first appeared in 1953,although sales did not commence until 1954. Today there is much to commend them to the Classic car buyer, not least of all, is the fact that when you arrive at a show in one, the chances are it will be the only one present.

The highly useable example we offer here has recently emerged from a five year refurbishment/ rebuild. The Magnette was stripped and rebuilt, which included a repaint in the original factory grey. During the rebuild the engine was modified to run on unleaded fuel with hardened valves and tuned to give the car the same power is the later ZB version. The Magnette was treated to a new carpet set and the leather upholstery rejuvenated. All the door cards were recovered with the original and correct vinyl. New window rubbers and frames were fitted. The car was then treated to a new fuel tank and a full stainless steel exhaust system.New radial tyres were also fitted.

Whilst we would not describe the Magnette as concourse, it certainly would not be out of place at any MG show or rally.

Part exchange welcome, ancient and modern, funds either way.
