It's some time since we have had an MGC GT, then, like a London bus, two come along at the same time. We have an Auto version and this Manual one that has just arrived. An MGC is an MGB for grown ups. The MGC is fast, unstressed and addictive with the laziest of 6 cylinder engines. Al for half the price of a big Healey.
This manual GT version was built at Abingdon in late 1968 and was delivered to MG Dealers J.C. Bea Garages of Dartford Kent and first registered in March 1969.
The last owner tells us that the C was purchased by a gentleman in 1977, who decded after a few years to carry out a full back to metal rebuild. He commenced the process in 1983 but, having done all the hardwork, never actually completed the project and sold the car in it's unfinished state in 2004.The then new owner completed the project to a very high standard. The restoration included a full engine rebuild and new genuine MGC gearbox, new fuel tank, rechromed bumpers, new interior trim, new wings, new doors, sills, castle rails etc. the car has now covered a few thousand miles since the project was completed. The car is standard apart from a stainless exhaust system, fabicated tubular exhaust system and telescopic rear shock absorbers.
