1969 AUSTIN HEALEY SPRITE 1275cc |
The Austin Healey car company launched the MK IV Sprite in 1966.The biggest changed compared with it's predeccessor was the installation of the bigger 1275cc engine. The Sprite had one or two other updates which were more than just cosmetic. Most notable was the change from a removable soft top, which was stowed in the boot, was replaced by a self folding hood.A facelift was carried out on the1970 model year. This included a new range of colours, new grille and wind up windows. The Healey connection was discontinued in 1971,so the final 1033 Sprites were simply Austin Sprites.
The very smart example we offer here was, according to the Heritage certificate accompanying the car, was built in December 1968 and was destined to the UK market. The car was firat registered in Plymouth on the 6th June 1969. The DVLA V5 (log book) states that the car car has had just 3 previous owners.Subject to an earlier restoration the car comes with a new hood, new carpets and runs on 4 very attractive Cosmic alloy wheels.
