1936 MORRIS EIGHT SERIES 1 4 DOOR

Inspired by the Ford Motor Companies Model Y saloon,Morris replaced the long running Minor with the Eight in 1935. It was available in saloon, tourer and van versions. The standard specification included a full set of instruments, it's hydraulic operated brakes were vaslty superior to the Austin Seven's cable system and it's electric windscreen wipers put the vacuum system of the Ford Y to shame.

Morris Eights in excellent condition such as the rare 4 door version we offer here are extremely hard to find.Obviously the subject to an earlier and detailed restoration, the car is presented in a lustrous black over blue paintwork, a colour scheme that is enhanced by an attractive gold coachline. This 1936 4 door version comes complete with sliding sun roof, opening windscreen and luggage rack. The underside is very solid and undersealed for added protection agains corrosion. The interior presents very well with seemingly unmarked blue leater trim and smart blue caroets throughout.Being a Series one it rides on wire wheels that have apparently been freshly powder coated. The under bonnet area is to the same standard as the rest of the car and includes relatively new hoses and pipes, a rare air filter and an SU electric fuel pump.
