When announced , the MG Magnette was very unique in the market place, as mid sized sporting saloons were as yet not fashionable. Designed by Gerald Palmer of Jowett and Riley Pathfinder fame, the Magnette ZA first appeared in 1953, although sales did not commence until 1954. Today there is much to commend them to the Classic car buyer, not least of all is the fact that when you arrive at a show in one, the chances are you will be the only one present.

We originally sold this car to last owner some 2 years ago and have now taken it back inpart exchange.Before we sold the car to the last owner the car had been recommissioned by a well known Classic car engineering company after beinf stored in a dry storage unit for same 20 years. The workcarried out included the removal of the engine to fit a new flywheel ring gear and new clutch furter work included replacing all core plugs and gaskets. The SU carburettors were rebuilt, fitting of a new distributor with electronic ignition, new HT leads,new spark plugs, all water hoses were replaced, spin on oil filter, replace exhaust manifold, fitting of new stainless steel exhaust system, new fan belt, new brake master cylinder, new brake flexi pipes, inner suspension bushes, new shock absorbers, new radial tyres on newly powder coated wheels, heater control, anti freeze, Millers engine and gear oil, rear gearbox seals and much more.A total of £4000 was spent. The car has covered only 500 miles since this work was carried out.
