Looking very much like it's smaller stable mate the Morris Minor the Oxford was announced in 1948 and stayed in production until 1954. Designed by Alec Issigonis,it was one of the first post war cars to use the unit construction technique and also one of the first to use torsion bar front suspension. Power came from a 1.5 litre side valve straight four engine producing 41 bhp. Driving through a four speed column gear change gearbox, this gave the car a claimed top speed of 72 mph.

First registered on the 10th of March 1953 the highly presentable matching numbers example we offer here was kept by the first owner for 23 years and the second owner was to keep the Oxford for a further 28 years. Furthermore, it would appear the the car has had just 5 owners from new. The car was restored in 2005. During the restoration the engine was rebuilt. Since the rebuild the Oxford has covered just 5000 miles. The history file contains a full written description of the rebuild together with a photographic record. The history file also contains the car's first buff coloured log book.
