1954 RENAULT 4CV 750 RESTORED

The Renault 4 CV is probably one of the most underrated classic cars on the market. The 4CV was designed in great secrecy at the Renault factory during the second world war at the time of the Nazi occupation of France. The rear water cooled 750cc Renault was produced between 1947 and July 1961. It was the first French car to sell over a million units and was superseded by the Dauphine. Standard specification being monocoque construction,4 doors, rack and pinnion steering and full independent suspension. The design of the car was so advanced that examples were raced at Le Mans in period.

This is the second time we have handled this extremely rare right hand drive version. Built at Renault's plant in Acton London, this car was first registered in Doncaster on the 6th of May 1954 and was to have just 3 owners in the first 15 years of it's life. Some time ago the Renault was subjected to a full restoration including complete retrim and engine rebuild. The comprehensive history file contains a photographic record of the rebuild. The history file also includes the car's original buff log book, later log books, driver's handbook, workshop manual and older MOT certificates. The last owner recently changed the oil and filter plus a suspension grease up. The car rides on radial ply tyres. Very good back up available with Club Renault.

Ready to enjoy and show.
