1954 TRIUMPH RENOWN |
The Renown was first car to carry the name of Triumph after the The Standard Motor Company had purchased the Triumph Company. The Renown was announced shortly after the end of WW2, to cash in on the post war export market. The cars were coachbuilt in the Razor Edge style which was in vogue at the time. Owing to the shortage of steel in the late forties and early fifties. Most of the body work was in aluminium. Powered by a 2100cc engine coupled to a 3 speed gearbox, making the Renown capable of 75 mph.
The quite outstanding Coventry registered example we offer here has had just just 6 owners from new including the last owner, who has been the registered keeper for 47 years. During his ownership the car has been subject to a comprehensive restoration including a full new interior. The car has covered just 5000 miles since. The history file contains a full list of all owners since new together with every MOT certificate since 1985, it is worth noting that the car has been subject to MOT tests right up to the present day.
The Renown is well known in Triumph circles and is ready to enjoy and show.
Part exchange welcome, ancient or modern, funds either way.
