Designed by the renowned Gerald Palmer — best known for his work on the Jowett Javelin — the MG Magnet ZB represented a significant turning point for MG.

Built in Abingdon, the Magnette was MG’s first monocoque-bodied saloon, dispensing with the traditional separate chassis in favour of modern unitary construction. Its sleek, streamlined styling was far ahead of earlier MG models, combining practicality with sporting pedigree in a way that defined the marque’s post-war direction.
