1968 MGB GT. MANUAL O/D. RESTORED

Ah! The MGB GT, the icon of your youth in the swinging sixties, when you used to meet at the 'Dog and Duck' with your like minded petrol head chums and drool over sports cars in the car park. The MGB is the archetypal British sports car, as British as warm beer and fish and chips. Production lasted some 28 years before finally departing the scene in 1980. In later years the MGB fueled the growrh of a remarkable industry geared to maintaining, improving and creating the breed. Yes, some people sneer that the B is boring but this is nonsense brought about by the British fear of success. The MGB deserves to be at the top of the shopping list for anyone lookoing for a classic sports car.

This particular MGB GT, according to the British Motor Industry Heritage certificate was built at the Abingdon MG plant between the 8th  and 14th of August 1968 and was first registered to BMC at the Longbridge plant of August 1968, probably as a press car. The car is still finished in Tartan red, just as it left the factory. The car sports wire wheels, overdrive and seat belts. The MG was subject to a partial restoraion between 2016 and 2017. At which time the the sills were replaced, front wings repaired, the tailgate and doors were also replaced. New carpets were fitted together with new door cards. The seats were also repadded. During the restoration the car was treated to a full glass and chrome off repaint in it's original colour. The car now has halogen headlights, electronic ignition, drilled front dics, new servo and thicker than standard front anti roll bar. The B GT has been converted to a single 12 volt battery replacing the older twin 6 volt set up. For the security conscious owner the car has a secret immobiliser switch. The history file contains a photographic record of the restoration together with a thick wad of invoices, British Heritage certificate, full HPI report, a number of MOTs going back to 1978, current DVLA V5 log book, copies of older and original log books together with a list of previous owners.

The car is ready to show and ready to go.
