The Volvo P 1800 ES  is the lesser known version of the famous Volvo Sports car made famous by the Saint. The estate version was first launched in 1971 and was for all intents and purpose an Estate version of the Volvo 1800 sports car. The car was designed very much in the Reliant Scimitar GTE style, with an estate car rear and glass hatchback, It was different and daring. The car ended up selling very well especially as it had room for 4 adults plus luggage and a maimum speed of 115 mph.

The 1972 example we offer here comes from a collection of cars owned for the last 16 years by a retired automotive engineer with an interesting history in car design and development. It goes without saying that having come from such ownership the car has been particularly well maintained with a wad of invioces for the car's upkeep totalling in excess of £8000. The history file also contains all MOTs going back 16 years.The car has had recent retrim in leather costing the best part of £2000. The car rides on a relativly new set of Minilite alloy wheels. The car is has the desired option of overdrive. For the safety minded the Volvo has a 'Lifeline' fire extinguisher. Probably one of the nicest examples on the market.
